Thinner disc drastically reduces carbon footprint of DVD manufacturing and shipping

While they cost about the same to manufacture, they do not require protective packaging, saving trees, ink and money. Additionally, at half the weight, shipping and mailing costs are drastically reduced. The Flexi-DVD is made using half the plastic of a regular DVD, which reduces the carbon footprint for manufacturing by more than 70%. The Flexi-DVD is 100% recyclable.

People Productions hires five new employees

Boulder, Colorado, May 10, 2010 – Communications and marketing firm People Productions welcomes five new employees to it’s staff. “Our rich integration of video production with custom business applications for both the Web and iPhone has brought in so many new projects since the start of 2010 that we needed to augment our staff,” said Brad Gilbert, President of People Productions.

Three of the new employees are web programmers and iPhone App developers. Nathan Wade is spearheading custom iPhone and iPad Applications for business use. Matt Vander Vliet and Jean-Francois Hardy are web programmers with experience with database deisgn, e-learning, e-commerce, and social networking.

Greg Pierce is a new Project Manager for People Productions. He has more than10 years of experience leading technology teams to success, including launching the Swedish Postal Service’s online service.

Nate Rich is a wildly creative video editor with a flair for design. He has edited many national commercials and corporate videos for Celestial Seasonings, McDonald’s, Ford, Coors and Shriners Hospitals.

People Productions wins multiple Telly Awards

Boulder, Colorado, November 19, 2009 - People Productions won 2 Telly Awards for a video used to introduce a new digital SLR for Olympus Imaging America. The promotional video showcased the features of their professional-grade E-3 camera by illustrating the camera’s performance in situations faced by professional photographers. The production team shot in various locations, including on a hot air balloon above Boulder, harnessed in rock climbing gear on the side of a mountain and inside a nature preserve with a wild lion.

This video was People Productions’ second project with Jay Kinghorn of RGB Imaging, an Olympus Visionary photographer. Kinghorn, host of the video, said, “After the professional, detail-oriented work on Web-based training modules People did for us, they were the obvious choice to produce the product intro video. I appreciated their vision and creativity. Olympus was thrilled that the video truly showed what their cameras can do.”

Intercambio produces fund-raising video

Boulder, Colorado, November 6, 2009 - Intercambio of Boulder helps immigrants adjust
and join in everyday society. They needed a way to bring fresh voices and volunteers into
their training groups and to garner extra financial support. People Productions,
celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, worked with Intercambio to produce a video
that tells the success stories of several individuals.

Lee Shainis, Executive Director of Intercambio de Communidades, said “We have seen
an emotional response in our new volunteers after seeing this video. This has been very
helpful in our fundraising during these tight economic times, as well.”

Local Filmmakers get 1 minute of fame

Boulder, Colorado, September 29, 2009 - People Productions is proud to announce the winners of the 2009 Short Film Contest. As part of their celebration of 25 years in Boulder, People Productions sponsored a short film festival at this year’s Boulder Outdoor Cinema. Local movie makers submitted their short films, with the best being shown on the big screen before the movies that were shown every Saturday this Summer.

Russell Hess won first place with “Love to Scrub.” Second Place went to John Moore’s “Fife: The Hard Way.” Darra Stone won third place with “Hand Animated Wish.” The prizes include a FLIP HD Digital Camera, a high-definition Blu-ray Player, and a free class and membership to Boulder Digital Arts, an organization that People Productions

Mobile Business Apps on the rise

People Productions creates fund-raising video

Boulder, Colorado, May 11, 2009 - People Productions produced a promotional and fund raising video for The Women’s Wilderness Institute of Boulder, a local non-profit that helps women and girls explore the great wilderness areas of the west. The institute’s tagline is “Strong Girls. Strong Women. Better World.” and the video focuses on how they make that happen by following several teenage women through their experiences, creating an emotional tie with the viewer. Beth Davis, Executive Director of The Women’s Wilderness Institute, said “The impact from our video will be felt for many years.  We expect to have a significant increase in our donor base and our donor contributions based on this video.” People Productions wrote the script, filmed interviews along with adventurous outdoor footage and edited the video with fun graphics and music. Boulder, Colorado, April 22, 2009 - People Productions and Yoga Journal recently completed a 3 DVD set titled “John Friend’s Anusara Yoga Grand Gathering” which captured Friend’s advanced hatha yoga class at the annual Yoga Journal conference in Estes Park, Colorado. Originally captured with multiple High Definition cameras and displayed on large screens at the conference so that all attendees had a clear view of the instruction, it was then edited down into 7 hours of training material accompanied by an interview with Mr. Friend.

John Friend is one of the most charismatic and respected hatha yoga teachers in the country. Friend  blends a deep knowledge of biomechanics and yoga philosophy with a sense of humor. In 1997 John founded Anusara Yoga which is regarded as a preeminent hatha yoga school and has an expanding presence in countries throughout the world. 25 Years of supporting Boulder Filmmakers

Boulder, Colorado, February 12, 2009 - People Productions produced the TV commercials and event trailer and other promotional materials for this year Boulder International Film Festival. Robin and Kathy Beeck, BIFF Directors, contracted People Productions to highlight the 5th anniversary of the festival. People Productions was a Gold Level Sponsor of the film festival.

Following the filmic theme, People Productions created high-energy pieces utilizing a graphical style reminiscent of old film reels from the 50’s. The commercials aired on Comcast Cable starting in late January. The BIFF promo trailer, which is shown before every movie, showcases some of the featured films at the festival.

Previously, People Productions had edited “Grandpa’s in the TUFF Shed” with Robin and Kathy Beeck, which won many film festival awards, including the Telluride Mountain Film Fest, Breckenridge Film Festival and Banff Film Festival.
